About MakanE:
Makane is the one partner you need to start your own online store in MENA. MakanE brings together all of the relevant players (technology, shipping couriers, payment options) to make selling online a quick and easy process.
Responsibilities:
What you'll do:
- Ensure stellar and consistent UX/UI across all MakanE (web, mobile and offline).
- Guide the Makane design team in improving their skills and processes
- Improve & evolve MakanE’s design system and process for keeping the design system up to date.
- Define how the user experience of the company`s products should be, set the values for a good experience, set the values for the UX team, and define which paths should be followed today and in the future.
- Provide any assistance to UX`s team, creating the right work conditions for the employees, so they could do their tasks the best way possible.
- Delegate tasks to UX`s team, prioritize their activities, define their deadlines and allocate employees according to the right level of expertise to accomplish each task, always trying to achieve the right balance between demands/tasks, priorities, available resources, and deadlines.
- Approve the design solutions created by the UX team, drive the team`s members in their tasks, actively participate in the discussions about any project and assume entire responsibility for the team`s proposed design solutions.
- Establish a performance evaluation routine (both for each employee and for the whole UX team), gives constant feedback to each employee, and set the expectations about their delivered results.
- Contribute to the implementation of an innovation culture, by applying design thinking techniques and by encouraging discussions about a future vision.
- Lead various stages of the product design process, including ideation, sketches, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and animations
- Own the design function at the company
- Discover and select talented designers, develop their skills and group them into high-performance UX teams.
Requirement
Our ideal candidate:
- 6+ years of strong UX and UI design experience
- A great portfolio showcasing different types of projects, case studies, and UX processes.
- At least 2 years of experience in a management/leadership role
- Design experience in a consumer app across multiple platforms
- Experience leading product design at a company
- Experience working in a consumer startup at growth stages
- Track record of designing complex products (dashboards, tables) as well as delightful, engaging user flows
- Impeccable visual taste (Feel free to include a link to your Behance, Dribbble, or other visual scrap-board)
