We’re currently looking for a Frontend Developer to add to our high impact team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the ideal candidate will have strong experience in the development, testing, and implementation of consumer applications, projects and features. You will interact with peers from all areas of the business to ensure new web features help improve the customer experience, marketing, and operations.
This is a great learning experience for someone that is looking to further their software development skills in a high-growth environment. Upcoming projects that you will lead on include the development of exciting new UI/UX features for our consumer applications. There are a variety of other great feature and engineering projects in the pipeline that you will take a lead on building.
Mission
The mission of the Frontend Developer is to contribute significantly to all aspects of our frontend development efforts.
Accountabilities, Goals, and Outcomes
• Set up extensive unit tests for all UI components by 30th April 2022
• Optimize the Hello Chef website for maximum speed and scale; improve Lighthouse page speed index by 50% by May 2022
• Lead on the implementation of assigned consumer-facing features, with on-time delivery as per the product roadmap
• Assess the technical feasibility of 100% of all UX/UI implementations prior to development
What We’re Looking For
• 4+ years of work experience in modern frontend development with a mobile-first mindset
• Deep experience with a JavaScript framework like Vue.js / AngularJS / React (we love Vue.js)
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6 and up), HTML5, CSS3
• Experience with Node.js, Webpack, Gulp, and other build tools
• Well versed in writing unit tests using Jest / Mocha / Jasmine etc.
• Familiar with at least one CI/CD tool e.g., CircleCI, Jenkins, Gitlab etc.
• Exposure to Docker
• Exposure to AWS or other cloud providers
• Strong experience with responsive UI/UX implementation
• Know-how of frontend performance optimization methods
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering preferred
