At Amazon, we are going through an exciting period of growth. That’s precisely why we’re seeking a Buyer to join our Operational Procurement team. Everyday we work across different enthusiastic teams to exceed our customer expectations, fulfilling thousands of orders with the desired velocity and the highest quality.
In this role you will provide holistic, functional support to your Procurement Manager–your line manager–with all aspects of Procurement. This includes securing a constant flow of packaging and non-inventory goods and services; we’ll need you to ensure everything is supplied at the best possible value to the business, on a daily basis.
Your High-level Mission And Key Performance Indicators
- Functioning as part of a close-knit team, you’ll assist with driving cost reduction and improved overall services, for greater efficiencies and economies of scale,
- Assertively advocate the value of smart procurement, to create alignment with and buy-in from your internal stakeholders,
- Assist with the analysis of spending patterns, to help you identify a range of savings opportunities,
- Achieving annual cost saving targets for your Fulfillment Center,
- Ensuring that no Fulfillment Center/Station materials run out of stock, as well as preventing service supply issues.
Key job responsibilities
- Assist with the daily forecast and effective materials management of all non-inventory packaging supplies,
- Drive effective delivery of the procurement metrics, by leading &/or supporting projects and initiatives
- Work in full compliance with the company Spending and Transaction policy, educating and driving the expected and correct behaviors of business stakeholders,
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate and secure value for money on a full range of non-inventory goods and services
- Conduct e-sourcing events, and lead negotiations with suppliers.
- Build effective stakeholder & supplier relationships, ensuring a high service level in terms of quotations, quality compliance and lead times.
- Identify savings opportunities and partner with Business Owners to deliver savings through tenders, negotiations and contract renewals.
- Implementation and maintenance of Amazon internal e-catalogues.
- Train internal stakeholders on internal Procurement tools and processes.
- Work Order and Master Supply Agreement creation and execution.
- Perform root cause analysis as needed. Identify the possible causes, as well as the necessary corrective actions,
- Perform market research for the categories purchased to enrich the suppliers base of our current and future sourcing requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- Bsc degree of Science
- Experience in direct and/or indirect material and services purchases of at least 4 years.
- Negotiation skills
- Solid computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office package
- Fluency in Arabic (optional) and English is required
- Proficient in ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, in a large organization.
- Previous experience in procurement and purchasing, including supplier relationship management
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous contract negotiations and drafting is a plus.
- Previous experience in vendor management & Esourcing is preferred.
- Completion of a formal business qualification in administration, procurement or similar areas.
- CIPS qualifications (or working towards)
