Role Summary
To strengthen operations & maintenance within the Water Transmission, Storage & Distribution (WTS&D) Department, there is a requirement for a Water Operations Admin Controller to join the Operations and Maintenance Team to provide administrative support and control with reference to the repair and maintenance of the water network. The Operations Admin Controller will join a diverse technical team that promotes a collaborative, quality and results-oriented approach to providing customers with a continuous supply of high-quality water.
This key role will help ensure that NEOM Water Standards in relation to control of operations are satisfied during the operations and maintenance of water network assets. The successful candidate will be required to work in office with the occasional visit to the field. The role will involve attending regular network operation & maintenance meetings and the candidate will be required to support the team with permit applications for health and safety and operational control.
The applicant must have the ability to forge strong working relationships with third parties (including but not limited to other NEOM sectors & departments, contractors and consultants).
Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
Review and update permits for operations on the water network to be carried out by contractors ranging from minor valve operations to complete shutdowns of the network
Review and update permits related to health and safety e.g. confined space entry
Review and update permits for access to water operational sites
Review and update encroachment application permits for contractors working in the vicinity of water assets
Help manage the relationship with all stakeholders, including but not limited to NEOM Projects, Government Services, NEOM Operations, Consultants and Contractors
Constantly monitor and report on progress of permit applications for water distribution assets to Water Department
Ensure Water client responsibilities with respect to Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental are met through operating the permit system
Maintain a database of permit applications for wide range of operational activities and provide analytical reports on activities
Work with the O&M team to ensure permits are being enforced across the water network assets and operational sites
Education & Experience
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience in relevant area and technical training
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an administrative role relating to water network operations
Knowledge and experience of permitting systems and safe systems of work
Knowledge of water operational assets and their function
Experience in a dynamic complex commercial organization, engaged in multiple simultaneous projects
Innovative approach, eager to challenge the status quo
Ability to focus on short- and long-term strategic objectives
