Job Description
Main Purpose of the Job:
As a Protection, Testing and Commissioning Engineer you will be responsible for driving the power system protection and related activities of the Power Transmission and Distribution project during design and construction/implementation stages till final commissioning.
As a Protection, Testing and Commissioning Engineer you will require to perform the following activities as minimum:
Preparation of conceptual protection related documents and drawing, such as Metering and Protection Single Line Diagrams, Block logic diagrams, protection philosophy, CT/VT sizing, protection setting calculations.
Review all protection related documents prepared by others and the EPC Contractor/panel manufacturers – which will include control and protection schemes, wiring diagrams, protection and control relay list, protection philosophy, CT/VT sizing, protection setting calculations
Review the testing and commissioning plans and procedures.
Supervise, Witness and approve all the site tests on electrical equipment and systems till commissioning performed by EPC contractor. Notify EPC Contractor of any defect/deficiency observed and advising for proposals for corrective action.
Monitor and ensure that the work is performed in strict compliance with Company and Client OETC standards and SOP.
Candidate Specification
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience with power utility protection schemes and supervising the site testing and commissioning is must.
Hands on and proficiency in testing and commissioning of Protection devices, Switchgear, Transformers, etc using latest test equipment / test kits mainly protection relays used in power transmission network is must.
Knowledge in Maintenance of protection equipment is desirable.,
Work experience in Middle East with power utilities and/or consultancy is preferred.

Adopting an adaptive mindset and using strategic and critical thinking to approach problems in a new way
Ability to deal efficiently with priorities and manage time appropriately
Advanced level proficiency with all MS Office products and other industry-standard software and IT platforms
A dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels including external stakeholders
Ensure Mott MacDonald HSE and ethics policies are at the forefront of all activities
Adopting a proactive approach towards complex tasks and overall delivery.
Sound knowledge of professional and international standards.
