Provides services to the Refinery Units/Business team (BT) for the Process, Off plots and Jetty areas to help verify the integrity & reliability of civil and steel structures, including underground and marine structures, by applying appropriate inspection techniques
Regular Assigned Duties:
- Provides technical advice and recommendations for issues pertaining to civil and structural engineering, including geotechnical, coastal marine which includes but is not limited to: steel structures, concrete fire-proofing, equipment foundations, substation and control room buildings, roads and embankments, pipe bridges, culverts, concrete drainage and canal systems, concrete and earth bund- walls, jetty structures, marine mooring equipment, and related structures
- Provides the above technical advice for the maintenance of existing civil structures, as well as for the development of new ones under projects
- Reviews inspection requirements and establishes schedule, frequency, and techniques to be applied to verify the integrity and reliability of civil structures based on risk based inspection principles, the incumbent will be required to assign the probability & mode of failures, based on condition of Structure
- Support Refinery with technical advice, best Industry practices and competitive global standards to enable top quartile operating performance
- Carries out various field inspection techniques, evaluates the findings and issues precise and clear inspection reports with definite and practical recommendations based on engineering standards/norms and procedures for proper action(s) to be taken by all parties concerned
- Supervises NDT contractors/ technicians as and when required for Civil related works
- Updates regularly and maintains equipment records as per SAMREF procedures
- Gives advice on inspection requirements for major projects, maintenance activities, plant changes and temporary repairs. Plays an active role in the control of activities involving all civil and steel structures by establishing clear work procedures and quality checks prior to each project/ maintenance activity. This covers ISO procedures, repair procedures and similar work
- Acts as a focal point for the technical evaluation and monitoring of the permanent and temporary repairs on civil and steel structures.
- Review & approve the Plant change (MOCs & TSRs) packages related to Civil works
- Perform Quality Assurance and Control reviews to ensure the technical integrity, constructability, functionality and reliability for all new projects, plant changes and repair works
Education:
Bachelor’s degree of Science in Civil Engineering.
Experience:
10 years of experience in related fields (civil/structure design, repair)
