EFI Casablanca is a highly sought-after international French school in the city. The bilingual French/English program in primary school starts with the youngest learners at 3 years old, and is expanding up into CE2 (3rd grade). The '50-50' program has an English teacher and a French teacher sharing two classes, with the French national education curriculum being taught nearly 50 percent in each language on alternating half-days. Motivated, energetic and experienced teachers are required to work with these classes.
Details of the Position:
o Full-time classroom teaching in CE2 (8 yrs or Grade 3)
o Maximum 26 students per class (2 classes half-time)
o M/T/Th/F workday starts at 8:30, finishes at 4:30pm; lunch 12-1:30pm. No classes on Wednesday afternoons, and another early finish at 2:30pm
o Close collaboration with the French teaching partner and English team to ensure a smooth execution of the program (yearly/term/weekly planning and development, preparing materials), child assessment and regular communication with parents
o Active participation in school life including school events and supervisory duties.
Preferred Profile:
· Loves working with children and is a willing collaborator and team player
· Has a perfect command of English (native level) and a working knowledge of French
· Possess teaching qualifications (B.Ed., PGCE, Early Childhood Education etc.) and English teaching qualifications (TEFL, TESOL, CELTA etc)
· Have experience using educational technology (IWBs, educational software and applications etc.)
· Have experience teaching in a bilingual classroom setting and/or in the French system
· Be adaptable to a French international elementary school and accept its operating procedures, life and culture.
