About The Role
- Provides a full range of operational HR support to management and employees
- Acts as a main point of contact for employees and members in Canada, responding to and following up on employee enquiries and working to solve their issues and problems.
- Assists in documentation and implementation of HR policies and procedures for the country
- Assists in employee communication efforts through email and slack
- Administers and maintains all Notion/Intranet content for HR in the country
- Manages the onboarding process for all new hires in Canada
- Ensures accuracy and administration of Dayforce system, processing reports, forms, and changes including compensation, titles, leaves, terminations, and department reorganizations
- Processes payroll change requests with our payroll team
- Organizes employee surveys for all regions such as onboarding and engagement surveys
- As Admin for benefits programs; ensures proper setup during onboarding and exit process, responds to enquiries and changes, and coordinates and manages disability claims
- Updates and maintains employee files for the country
- Prepares employment verification letters and handles background check escalations
- Supports employee exit process including drafting termination letters, processing resignations, conducting termination meetings, and manages offboarding process
- Manages New Hire and Offboarding Tracker, coordinating across departments to ensure processes run smoothly and accurately
- Organizes training opportunities both for Canada and internationally
- Keeps up with employment and HR best practices in Canada and makes recommendations for policy changes
- Assists with Occupational Health & Safety program implementation & ongoing activities
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- HR designation or working toward designation strongly preferred
- 2-5 years of relevant HR experience supporting HR and people operations activities, tech industry experience an asset
- Strong knowledge of local labour laws
- Initiative and problem solving skills
- Strong relationship building skills, cross functionally and externally
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly-changing environment, able to prioritize situations which require a sense of urgency
- Ability to be successful in a fully-remote work environment
- Advanced English speaking, writing, and comprehension
- Proven experience with HRIS systems (Dayforce experience highly preferred)
- Good understanding of all aspects of HR and processes
