The Role

Having a diverse portfolio to manage and supported by an HR Advisor, you will partner with leaders and support employees, by providing strategic and operational advice across the full range of HR matters, initiatives, policies, and procedures.

Key Focuses
  • Building strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, acting as a confidante, coach and educator on HR practice.
  • Raising capability through coaching and mentoring both leaders and more junior HR colleagues
  • Leading ER activities while delegating
  • Supporting the Head of People&Culture with the delivery of people and culture initiatives
  • Partner for the OD team to drive and embed initiatives across your portfolio
  • Driving continuous improvement of people transactions and overall business processes
Ideally You Will Have
  • Significant Human Resource practitioner experience - some of which has been gained in a large, complex, corporate environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (desirable)
  • Sound working knowledge of NZ employment law
  • Excellent relationship skills, built through mutual trust and respect, influence, credibility, and the delivery of quality work. Able to adapt style.
  • Strong employment relations experience

Hours of work - Monday to Friday with flexibility on hours incl WFH days

Salary - Will be negotiated with the successful candidate

Location - This position is primarily based at Christchurch City Council Civic Offices, 53 Hereford STreet
