The Green Tech Institute (GTI) of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University aims to train future technical executives in various industrial specialties combining renewable energy, green processes, and advanced technologies, including industrial digitization and industry 4.0.
The UM6P Ben Guerir Campus
Spread over more than 33 hectares in the heart of the Green City of Benguerir and near Marrakech, the UM6P campus was designed and imagined by renowned architects. It combines modernity and tradition and provides recent and perfectly equipped infrastructures, adapted to teaching and research needs.
The architecture of the UM6P campus combines Moroccan authenticity and contemporary design by offering minimalist buildings in warm tones, surrounded by living spaces dedicated to social, intellectual, and physical development.

Description
The Green Tech Institute at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) invites applications for two (2) full-time faculty position in the field of Construction Engineering and Management starting January 2024. The positions are at the Assistant Professor or Associate level with a proven excellent track record of teaching and research or practical experience.
Responsibilities And Requirements
The faculty position responsibilities for the new master’s program at UM6P include (but not limited to) teaching graduate-level courses in construction engineering and management, project management, infrastructure asset management, building science, sustainability, and other relevant engineering management and design courses. Other responsibilities may include performing research on new and innovative technologies in construction engineering and management, sustainability, and civil infrastructure asset management, as well as providing service to the assigned academic unit in terms of supervising graduate students, student academic advising, serving on various committees, and participating in course assessment efforts and program evaluation and accreditation endeavors.
An earned PhD (or a doctoral degree) in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, or in a closely related field of study is required. In addition, candidates with Professional Engineering (P.E., or P.Eng.), or Certified Engineering (C.Eng.) registration (or being on track to obtain such licensure within one year of employment) are highly preferred. Special preference is also placed on a minimum of 5 years industry experience in project engineering, or in construction project management.
The successful candidate is expected to be an excellent instructor, communicate and interface with the new program’s industry partners and professional and academic stakeholders to support our new Master’s program as well as to provide service to the university and the academic unit. Applicants with prior teaching experience in related fields within accredited university programs are highly encouraged to apply.
The new assistant / associate professors will be joining a dynamic, and interdisciplinary team of respected and renowned educators and researchers. The new faculty will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the new master’s program’s industry partners and academic stakeholders in teaching the new program’s courses and contributing to its further educational and research growth and expansion that are aligned with the UM6P’s vision and mission. The teaching load for the new faculty is expected to be 3 + 2 courses each academic year.
Duties
Job responsibilities for the 2 faculty positions include (but are not limited to) teaching advanced courses in construction engineering and management, infrastructure management and design, building science, sustainability, and other engineering design courses. Other responsibilities include supervising graduate students, defining and conducting research projects in collaboration with the program’s industry partners, holding faculty office hours, student academic advising, participating in course assessment and program evaluations, and actively contributing to internal and external professional services. The new faculty are also expected to establish collaborative academic research programs with the industry, and sponsoring government agencies, and non-governmental organization to attract support, future partnerships, and/or funding opportunities for further expanding the new program.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess a PhD (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or closely related fields. Professional Engineering (PE, or P.Eng) or Certified Engineering (C.Eng) registration (or being on track to obtain such licensure within one year of employment) is strongly encouraged and a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience is highly preferred. Professional Certifications such as (but not limited to) PMP, CCM, LEED, AIA, DBIA, etc. are preferred qualifications.
The successful candidate is expected to be an excellent instructor: interface with the industry and professional organizations to support our program and provide service to the university and the academic unit at UM6P. Candidates with prior teaching experience in an accredited program are particularly encouraged to apply.
