Project Manager

Job title: The Defense Group at Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to support the efforts of the OCONUS Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) part of the NGEN-R Services Management, Integration and Transfer (SMIT) contract located in Manama, Bahrain. NGEN-R SMIT is the Navy's largest IT services program; Including cyber security services, network operations, service desk and data transmission. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in standardizing its maritime networks and data management to improve capacity and service while saving significant dollars by concentrating efforts within a single enterprise network. The Project Manager will demonstrate strong management and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of IT project management concepts, including scope, schedule, cost, resources, communications, risk, and stakeholder management. The candidate will be responsible for coordinated team efforts, in order to analyze existing IT program implementation efforts and inventory, and to identify measures required to improve or maintain operations in order to meet customer requirements. work duties The qualified candidate will plan, direct and coordinate team activities to manage and implement interrelated projects and projects from inception to the final operational phase. Other duties and responsibilities include: Lead the project team in identifying client requirements and translating requirements into operational plans. Planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting activities related to the project. Develop project control procedures, prepare reports and manage changes as needed. Conduct status review meetings between project team members and clients. Proactively influence clients to apply project planning methodologies. Ensure compliance with legally binding requirements. Control of project requirements, scope, and change management issues. Analyze needs and recommend appropriate planning concepts and tools to be used in all aspects of planning, scheduling and project tracking. Analyze project progress/costs and facilitate development of recommended alternatives. Develop communication plans, ensuring appropriate information exchange among key stakeholders. Advise senior management on the ability to manage the project and risks. Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and project management techniques. Develop and manage a collaborative work environment, working with employees to ensure that comprehensive knowledge transfer activities associated with job functions and day-to-day tasks are successfully carried out Identify and document necessary skill/training improvements based on monitoring actual performance against documented site standard operating procedures (SOPs) Basic qualifications Must be a US citizen with 4-8+ years of progressive responsibility in managing and/or implementing the planning, provisioning and delivery of IT projects. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or any other related field. PMP certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of rental Teamwork oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Results oriented with strong people and time management skills, highly organized, enthusiastic and motivated to succeed. Ability to create and edit project documents, materials and presentations, including schedule management. Written and verbal communication skills required with demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams. The candidate must be motivated, proactive, organized and have the ability to manage concurrent projects and interact with external clients in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy. The candidate must possess leadership, organisation, communication and time management skills. She currently has an active security clearance from the Department of Defense. qualifications preferred PMP certification. Experience with Agile methodologies ITIL Foundation Certificate v3 or v4 Compatible with DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security +, CCNA Security, etc.) Operating System Certification (MTA, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, etc.) Demonstrate working knowledge of network and data center technologies Experience in managing change. With the ability to carry out operations, while addressing political considerations Work experience in government contracting, particularly in relation to financial aspects and standard business practices (eg, familiarity and ability to interpret business statements, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, etc.).
