Role Purpose
The Insurance Claims Manager sits in the Insurance Function's claims vertical. The Manager is responsible for managing the operational requirements of the claims management process, in the strategic direction of the Insurance Function, mitigating NEOM’s claims risks and supporting the deliverable of fair resolution of insurance claims and disputes. The role will be pivotal in maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, while safeguarding NEOM’s interests in construction projects and operational assets. You will leverage your expertise in contract interpretation, negotiation, and project management to proactively manage and resolve claims, contributing to the successful and timely completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities / Performance Measures (KPIs)
- Claims Management: Oversee the end-to-end claims management process, including identifying, evaluating, and responding to claims arising from construction projects and operational assets.
- Contract Analysis: Support internal review and contract analysis to understand the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of all parties involved. Identify potential areas of dispute and establish a durable foundation for claims resolution.
- Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to identify potential risks that could lead to claims. Identify and as appropriate implement preventive measures to minimize the occurrence of disputes and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all claims-related correspondence, agreements, and supporting materials. Prepare comprehensive reports on the status and progress of claims for senior management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, to provide timely and accurate updates on claims and their resolution. Engage in constructive negotiations with external stakeholders, such as loss adjustors, consultants, contractors and vendors.
- Negotiation: In agreement with the Senior Manager, lead negotiations to achieve amicable settlements of claims, balancing NEOM’s interests to maintain positive business relationships. Present well-founded arguments and evidence to support the company's position during negotiations.
- Dispute Resolution: Collaborate with internal and external legal experts, as needed, to navigate complex legal matters and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Participate in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, such as mediation or arbitration, when required by senior management.
- Adherence to Policies: Adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and industry best practices.
Role Overview
- Join NEOM Construction Company as a Claims Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring fair claims resolution, mitigating risks, and contributing to the success of groundbreaking construction projects within the NEOM development. Your expertise will drive positive outcomes and solidify NEOM's reputation for excellence in the industry . Support execution of claims in line with policies and procedures for insurance claims handling at NEOM Company
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to collect all accurate and pertinent information to claims management
- Provide strategic advice in determining claims settlement values, settlement negotiations, policy terms application, and legal principles applicable on the claims
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of large and/or complex reinsurance claims handling procedures in a similar environment and/or sector
- Technical working knowledge of CAR/EAR and PAR insurance coverage
- Proven experience of reinsurance stakeholder management
- Knowledge of regulatory & compliance in relevant industry sectors (preferably in KSA)
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex contractual language and assess project risk under the claim management purview.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in claims management and documentation tools/software.
- Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and manage multiple claims concurrently.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with the NEOM development project and its unique challenges is advantageous.
- Post-graduation degree/diploma in management accounting, finance, or other field complimentary to the position
- Insurance and/or risk-related certification/qualifications preferred (FRM, CIC, CPCU, CRM, AAI, etc.)
