Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Communications Manager to support the development of NEOM’s sector communications strategy and initiatives. You’ll be responsible for developing and leading NEOM’s various sectors and regions’ communications initiatives and programs. You will have at least 10+ years’ experience managing corporate communications projects for a large, dynamic and decentralized organization.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

Planning and Strategy

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of NEOM’s sector communications objectives and goals by providing innovative communications content
  • Develop, implement and update Communications Division operational plans and oversee their implementation to take part in the realization of the envisioned future of NEOM
  • Collaborate with relevant NEOM staff members, stakeholders and leaders to identify required projects and initiatives that support the achievement of NEOM’s strategic communications vision

People Management

  • Help instill a culture of development, guidance and performance within the Communications Division
  • Take responsibility, in collaboration with the Sector Communications Manager, for building and maintaining a high-performance team
  • Participate in setting performance requirements and recruiting for key positions across the Communications Sector
  • Set performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate / appraise staff and provide regular feedback on performance
  • Promote a high-performance working environment embracing NEOM’s values
  • Develop and implement a program of capacity development for Division staff.

Background, Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in developing communications strategies, and plans
  • Develop, lead and implement comprehensive communications strategies to align with NEOM’s strategic communication goals
  • Plan and oversee the development of sector communications activities in consultation with Division Heads, Sector Heads and the Sector Communications Manager
  • Plan and manage the design, content, and production of corporate communication materials
  • Work with different communications departments to generate new ideas and strategies
  • Supervise communication projects to guarantee all content is publication-ready
  • Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner
  • Manage multiple task, events and activities
  • Create and deliver presentations to support planning for communications initiatives
  • Develop coordinated schedules and plans for communication initiatives
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal and external communications mediums
  • Ensure communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization
  • Storyboard or translate ideas to deliver effective briefs to the internal creative team and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in managing corporate communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is also desirable)
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
