Allied Universal is currently seeking Security Guards to assist during a Shutdown at an industrial oil & gas site located on the outskirts of Fort Saskatchewan.
It is a Full time temporary position for around 10 weeks which might lead to a permanent full time position.
Candidates with flexible availability are encouraged to apply. Job specific training will be provided.
Schedules: 12 hour shifts on a rotational schedule.
Hourly Rate - $20.16
Essential Functions:
Security guards may be asked to perform many essential functions at the facility they work at, although not an exhaustive list, these are a few of them:
Ensure the facility is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property which includes access control.
Build, improve and maintain effective relationships with both client employees and guests/visitors.
Use communications devices such as radios and cell phones
Follow radio and emergency telephone procedures
Patrolling the facility on foot or in a vehicle of interior and exterior areas of assigned locations.
Maintain complete, accurate, up to date reports and follow post orders as assigned.
Ensure that any or all emergency situations that may occur at the workplace and client facilities are responded to by following safety and emergency procedures within the scope of Allied Universal guidelines.
Demonstrate an active interest in promoting safety consciousness in the workplace.
Maintain complete, accurate and up to date, patrol notes, incident reports and information management system entries as required.
Maintain the client’s property and facilities in accordance with local trespass legislation, property acts and/or other laws affecting a client’s property.
Additional Responsibilities:
Report safety concerns, security breaches and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.
Handle security issues or emergency situations appropriately.
Fully embrace security/safety training programs.
Be aware of and familiar with the site-specific operations performance manual and post orders.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous contract security, military or law enforcement experience is beneficial
Must possess a valid Alberta Security License.
Must possess a valid Alberta Driving License - A clear driving abstract from the last 5 years will be required upon hiring.
Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Must be proficient with computer skills.
Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills required.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with the ability to work independently.
Must be at least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard.
Neat and professional appearance.
Friendly and professional demeanor.
Ability to providing quality customer service.
Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively at client site.
