Job Summary
The Retail & Strategy Development Department (RSDD) plays a crucial role as the custodian of This company's fuel retail business, with a focus on expanding the company's presence across the downstream value chain. The department's key objectives include developing retail businesses in high-value local, regional, and global markets to enhance This Company Downstream's financial resilience, secure marketing margins, and ensure stable returns. Additionally, RSDD works to integrate demand centers with both new and existing manufacturing assets.
As part of its responsibilities, RSDD formulates the retail strategy and engages in various business development and M&A activities. The department is also involved in managing marketing and branding efforts, encompassing the development of brand guidelines, marketing communication messages, and platforms. Moreover, RSDD houses a technical division that oversees the execution of network growth projects and technology deployment.
The role being offered will play a vital part in supporting the formulation and execution of the Retail strategy. This will involve tasks such as developing an opportunities pipeline, evaluating business proposals, and actively participating in the structuring and negotiation of diverse M&A transactions. The candidate is expected to demonstrate considerable independence while working on a diverse range of projects, some centered exclusively on fuels retail and others involving integrated refining & marketing opportunities. Strong relationship and communication skills are also essential for collaborating with senior internal and external stakeholders, promoting organizational alignment, and providing technical and business development expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Screen independent and integrated retail fuel business proposals using strategic and technical criteria to prioritize opportunities aligned with the retail strategy.
- Write and review business cases for complex business ventures, synthesizing information from feasibility studies to inform business plans.
- Provide expertise in assessing capabilities and risks associated with proposed new ventures, including operating models, non-fuel offerings, branding, sales, marketing, and logistics.
- Lead and/or support negotiations of agreements with external parties as part of ongoing M&A activities.
- Develop updates to the retail and downstream strategy as needed and present them to the Company's Executive Management for approval.
Requirements:
- This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Economics, Accounting, or Engineering disciplines.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CMA, or PMP preferred.
- At least 12 years of professional experience in fuels retail or related businesses.
- Proven track record of business development expertise and value creation through direct involvement in M&A activities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with Senior Stakeholders.
