About The Role

The Cafe Assistant is responsible for providing an excellent cafe facility and service to customers of Marinoto Cafe.

This is a permanent role offered at 0.9 FTE or 37.5 hours per week to be worked on a rotating roster Monday to Friday.

Specific duties include:

• To ensure the food and beverage served is to the required standard.
• To order the required quality and quantity of food.
• To maintain the cafe environment to a high standard
• To provide exceptional customer service to cafe customers.
  
  

Skills and Experiences:

Skills And Experience

• Experience in a busy cafe environment would be advantageous.
• Food preparation experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Knowledge of stock ordering.
• Good literacy skills as some written documentation required.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Motivated and reliable, with the ability to work unsupervised.
  

The successful applicant must have 'Practice Food Safety in a Food Business; unit 167'.

To be eligible for employment at Mercy Hospital Dunedin, applicants must have received all COVID 19 vaccinations, or have an exemption from the Ministry of Health. Proof of this will be required and conditional to employment, as per the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) order 2021.
