The main purpose of the Content Lead will be to produce, develop and execute compelling and unique content that aligns with the overall goals and objectives of the brand. 

The Content Lead plays an essential role in supporting increased brand visibility and brand storytelling. As a passionate collaborator and outside-the-box thinker, this role will be responsible for the planning, production, execution, and measurement of a variety of storytelling devices; from videos to live events to digital campaign content. They will have a strong understanding of the importance of integrated communication planning, be up-to-play with current industry trends and insights and easily navigate various social algorithms to increase the visibility of our content. 

Core RESPONSIBILITIES will include:

Strategy & Planning

  • Ensure the timely execution and delivery of content briefs to cross-functional teams, in collaboration with the Brand Publishing Lead and project managers 
  • Work closely with the brand marketing and creative teams to develop video and live stream content to support marketing campaigns, events, ethical campaigns, product launches and ‘always on’ content series 
  • Ensure all content is optimized, tagged and published according to best practices to achieve maximum viewership and engagement
  • Develop, execute and fine-tune cross-channel marketing strategies, to increase channel and content reach and audience engagement

Production & Collaboration 

  • Build trusted relationships with global teams, and other business areas such as retail, digital and ethics, to ensure effective collaboration and source brand storytelling opportunities
  • Provide insightful, objective and relevant feedback to creative teams to ensure delivery on brand marketing strategy and content KPIs 
  • Assist in developing a creator partnership strategy for YouTube and live events, identifying and securing potential partnerships for global and regional content
  • Manage and support content upload and organization (content calendar) in collaboration with the  content specialist and content coordinator

Reporting

  • Work with the content specialist to report on the impact and success of content performance on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis against existing benchmarks - - measurement, tracking and reporting of content engagement, traffic to website, ROI on paid search and audience growth 
  • Report on the impact of ongoing content series, brand campaigns and channel marketing activity, using data to optimize content and develop actionable recommendations 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Broad understanding of the business and passion for the industry and Lush brand - and drive to help others understand it too
  • 3-5 years proven content marketing experience with success in building and executing channel growth strategies
  • Strong background in social media marketing, PR, content marketing and/or brand marketing
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact of video content and determine improvements
  • Confident in reviewing, analyzing and implementing learnings from market research and consumer trends
  • Experience working closely with creative services to develop high-performing content 
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and ability to conduct and implement keyword research
  • Tenacity for trying new types of storytelling and taking creative risks
  • Strong project management and planning skills, with the ability to manage, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, working with and building on others’ ideas as well as coming up with ideas themselves
  • Proven leadership skills; can spearhead new initiatives and motivate others to deliver results 
  • Strong strategic-thinking and problem-solving skills, commercially-minded and objective 
  • Superior communication skills; written and verbal 

Location: Successful candidate will ideally be located in Vancouver, British Columbia or surrounding areas.
