Airswift are currently working with a large operator client in Qatar to recruit a Senior Construction Supervisor to work on their projects based in Doha, Qatar. The role will be working on a contract basis for a minimum of 12 months and will be residential.
- Control and supervise the site construction / installation of multiple projects of his discipline. Control and endorse necessary work permits.
- Review construction method statements, commissioning procedures, and endorse red marked as-built drawings and construction dossiers.
- Inspect construction works and materials in accordance with project plans and Inspection Test Plans.
- Ensure construction compliance with statutory safety and environmental regulations.
- Monitor the pace of progress with relation to the project plan and update/forecast any slippage in the schedule and provide solutions to the sub-contractor’s problems and help in preparing recovery schedules.
- Supervise and manage installation of Access Control System, CCTV System, LAN/WAN System works
- Supervise and manage installation of PAGA System, PABX System works
- Supervise and manage installation of VHF/UHF/TETRA Systems, Microwave Radio Systems works
- Supervise and manage installation of Intercom Systems, Hotline Network Systems works
- Supervise and manage installation of Voice Recorder Systems works
- Supervise and manage installation of Cable trays, conduits, cable laying, cables termination of his discipline
- Supervise and manage installation of fiber optics splicing & testing
- Supervise and manage installation of lifting / fixing Antennas, Antenna Alignment, LOS
- Supervise and manage installation of Racks installations (Radio/ OTN / CCTV / PAGA)
- Participate in the pre commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Supervise the EPIC Contractors during the execution of construction activities at construction site.
- Co-ordinate mobilization of contractors on site.
- Supervise and approve construction activities and co-ordinate various aspects of project construction including inspections, material submissions and working drawings from contractors, and processing documentation as required.
- Carryout daily checks on contractor’s staff and work carried out during the previous day in order to ensure compliance with prescribed contractual specifications.
- Cable termination and Loop checking.
- Witness SAT pre commissioning activities for equipment.
- Maintain a daily record of progress (daily diary) noting special comments. Reports to supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions.
- Sign work permits on behalf of QP and to ensure that contractor’s compliance with work permits.
- Prepare Punch list for finished work prior to hand over to QP by contractor by paying special attention to all equipment including Quality checks.
- Works closely with other QP Construction Supervisors (Mech / Arch/E&I).
- Report to QP Senior Construction Supervisor on main issues, events at site, progress reporting, trends and recommendation for improvement.
- Accountable for supervising contractor’s work that is in progress, inspecting work, reporting problems and preventing accidents occurring as a result of negligence, by enforcing QP safety standards on the work site.
- Liaise and report with the QC Inspector on quality related matters.
- Liaise with the HSE Supervisor on safety related matters
- Candidate should have a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in construction & installation of Electronics, Communication, Telecom, IT infrastructure for offshore oil and gas projects.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills to interface and communicate with internal and external departments, agencies, contractors and vendors.
- Candidate shall hold a solid knowledge and experience of all related telecom construction and commissioning activities.
- Candidate shall proof his employment in a well-recognized IT/Telecom company in a similar position.
- Candidate must have the following proven experience:
- RADIO SYSTEMS: MICROWAVE LINKS, TETRA, VHF, UHF, VSAT, MARINE RADIO
- SECURITY SYSTEMS: CCTV, PAGA, PAVA, ACCESS CONTROL
- Fiber Optics: Optical Transmission SDH, PDH, OTN
- IP NETWORKING: Switches, Routers, LAN / WAN, Structure Cabling, MDF/IDF
- TEL systems: PABX, Hotline, Field Telephones, IP Telephones
- Audio / Video Systems
- DC Power System, Rectifiers, UPS, Solar panels, Batteries
