Working with the Manager - Construction Management, the Qatar Middle East office is looking for an Assistant Project Manager (site based) to assist in the management of projects and project teams and quickly grasp project needs in order to meet client requirements. The role entails;
- A strict focus and understanding of Health & Safety for self and project team members.
- Understanding of Quality Control process including maintaining strong document records (reports / minutes of meetings), for internal or external distribution.
- An ability to coordinate time and cost budgets expansive of initial set up with the direction of the senior project management team.
- Demonstrative capability in project controls (scheduling, cost reporting, forecasting, variation management etc)
- Demonstrative ability in monitoring and evaluating project performance in line with time and budgetary constraints.
- Personable character capable of communicating project performance results with the project management team.
- Capable of suggesting and running changes in project processes to resolve identified shortcomings in operational methods.
- Plan and coordinate the resources for each job including inputs from other offices, sub consultants and other suppliers, and handle all jobs to deliver them on time, within the budget.
- What you will bring to the team:
- Degree qualified with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, project controls and / or engineering.
- Experience in report generation and discussions / presentations of the same with management and team members.
- An understanding of earned value management and the associated reporting indices and methods.
- Planning experience as well as an ability in using Primavera P6 or other software to assist in review / analysis of construction programmes an advantage.
- Experience using Microsoft Project is helpful
- Experience in coordination with the other multi-discipline project teams, clients, subcontractors and other suppliers.
- Strong eye for detail coupled with a methodical and organized approach.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills will be well utilised and your ability to develop internal and external working relationships is essential.
- Middle East experience helpful.
