Pacific Stone is a leading supplier and fabricator of quality handcrafted surfaces, all made to order from stunning natural and engineered stone and porcelain products. They measure, fabricate, and install beautiful granite, marble, stone, engineered stone, and porcelain for kitchens, bathrooms, fire hearths, reception counters, and a host of commercial spaces. They supply to the commercial business market, building companies, architects, designers, contractors, and kitchen cabinet makers throughout New Zealand and also sell directly to the homeowner.

Due to the popularity of classical benchtops and surfaces, Pacific Stone are looking to grow its Polishing and Fabricating team with experienced and skilled stonemasons.

Position Description, Role Requirements, And Responsibilities

• Manual Polishers use handheld polishing tools, to polish the tops, sides, and edges of the product, cut for kitchen benchtops, countertops, and other surfaces from engineered stone, granite stone, and sintered stone.
• Benchtop Fabricators glue together and polish stone to form thicker surfaces.
• Cutting and polishing stone, under mounts, and drainage grooves.
• Edging and profiling of stone edges, mitering, bullnosing, bevelling, and edging.
• Repairing chips and scratches
• Adhering to all Health & Safety practices and procedures
• Templating and measuring kitchens, bathrooms, fireplaces etc.
• You may also be required for loading and installing the finished product.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Polishing and/or Fabricating, as the stone is expensive and the tools used are polished and cut with diamond tooling. You must be Health and Safety conscious, with an eye for detail and quality workmanship and a good deal of physical fitness is essential for these roles. Pacific Stone would like an effective team player, who is reliable, able to follow instructions, prioritize workload, and is motivated to achieve output deadlines. They pay well for skilled technicians and offer plenty of hours and overtime.
